AI and Generative AI Policy

Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools Policy

The International Journal of Human and Social Dynamics (IJHSD) recognizes the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, and automated tools in academic research and scholarly publishing.

Authors

Authors may use AI or automated tools as appropriate for research support, language improvement, editing, formatting, coding, data analysis, or other legitimate purposes.

When generative AI is used to produce substantive content, analysis, ideas, text, images, code, or other material contributing to a manuscript, authors must disclose its use in the manuscript or in an appropriate disclosure statement.

Authors remain fully responsible for:

  • the accuracy and integrity of their manuscript;
  • verification of AI-generated information;
  • the originality of their work;
  • citations and references;
  • research methodology and results; and
  • compliance with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the work.

Generative AI tools should not be cited as authoritative sources for scholarly claims.

Peer Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain manuscript confidentiality and should not upload confidential manuscripts, unpublished research, personal data, or other protected material into generative AI systems for the purpose of preparing a peer-review report.

Reviewers should not use generative AI to independently generate or replace their substantive assessment of a manuscript.

Editors

Editors remain responsible for editorial decisions and must ensure that automated tools do not replace appropriate human judgment.

Any routine use of AI or automated tools by the journal should be subject to appropriate human oversight and verification.

Transparency

Where AI or automated tools are used by authors, reviewers, editors, or the journal in a manner that materially affects scholarly work or editorial processes, the relevant use should be transparently disclosed where appropriate.
